HEALTHCARE MANAGEMENT CURRICULUM

The University of Scranton's Online MBA with a specialization in Healthcare Management program conveys practical, real-world knowledge and essential skills to advance our graduates' careers within the rapidly changing and growing healthcare industry.  Healthcare management is a dynamic field with excellent employment growth projected through 2018 by the Bureau of Labor Statistics*.

The Online MBA with the Healthcare Management specialization requires 36 semester credit hours, excluding the 12 semester credit hours of foundation modules, which may be required depending on the student's qualifications. A three-credit cornerstone course, MGT 501: Responsibility, Sustainability, and Justice, is required of all MBA students.

In addition to the 21 credits of core courses in accounting, operations, management information systems, organizational behavior, marketing, economics and financial management, the Healthcare Management specialization features three advanced courses: Hospital Administration, International Comparative
Healthcare Services and Systems, and Healthcare Financial
Management II.

The three-credit capstone course, MGT 509: Business Policy, draws on all the functional areas in the MBA curriculum and provides an opportunity for students to examine strategic policy issues of business organizations. Students are required to develop, present and defend their own policy solutions for a real company or organization
